Navy Seal Matthew J. Leathers was a highly decorated combat veteran with numerous awards, including the Bronze Star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and medals for his contribution to the Global War on Terrorism. Matt enjoyed ultra-marathons and Open Ocean Free Diving. It was during a free diving exercise that he was lost at sea,in February 2013. His fellow SEALs have honored his memory, in recognition of his courage and unflinching devotion to duty with these simple words: MATT WOULD GO. His father, Tim Leathers, created the Matt Would Go company as a tribute to his son,and fellow Seals around the globe. During his nine years as a Navy SEAL, Matt designed his own knife to his own high standards. His father has collaborated with Buck to make the exact knife designed by Matt Black.

Coated 5160 steel. Drop point blade. Standard embellishment on front. "M.LEATHERS 245" embellishment on back. Ridging at two points for firm hold. Custom multicolor micarta handles shaped to provide sure grip. Black coated double rivets. Lanyard and lashing holes. 4-1/2" Drop point blade. 1-1/8" Blade width. 1/8" blade thickness. 9" overall. Textured Kydex sheath with TEK-LOK belt clip. Made in USA.
