The original V-42 Stiletto was used by the First Special Service Force (FSSF), an elite joint American/ Canadian commando unit also known as the Devil's Brigade, in World War II. U.S. Army Lt. Col. Robert T. Frederick, commander of the "V" stood for victory and "42" represented the year the knife was first made. Today the V-42 is a symbol of the elite of the United States military.
