George Herron was one of the finest knifemakers of our time, his name was always right there in the same hat when talking about greats like Bob Loveless and S.R. Johnson. His knife making career spanned nearly 45 years and in that time many makers learned form and duplicated his style. He was as well known for his trademark pipe as he was for his knives, and this beautiful 40th anniversary knife is a tribute to all of that and his home state of South Carolina.
Description
This beautiful knife was made to commemorate the 40th anniversary of George's knife making career. It features a 5" mirror polished 154CM stainless blade with a full tapered tang, polished 416 stainless guard and a gorgeous ivory handle with red fiber spacer featuring the scrimshaw work of world renowned artist Sandra Brady. The knife measures 9 5/8" OAL, 'HERRON 2003' is etched on the front of the blade, marker '18 1 of 40' on the inside of the tang. This is a must have for any Herron collector, pristine mint condition.
